I&#039;m currently living in Chile, a country with an equally lax attitute to animal welfare. There was a recent case where an animal shelter, which was taking donations from the public, was accused by police of leaving animals to die without food or water. Nobody was ever prosecuted. I was so upset by the number of stray dogs in Santiago, and by this case, that I went to help out at a shelter. I&#039;ve been volunteering on a regular basis since then and it&#039;s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I wrote about it for Revolver, an English-language entertainment magazine here in the city. You can read it here.
