I spent quite a bit of time yesterday reading MLK's speeches and watching them on YouTube. He is absolutely an incredible speaker. His words are just perfect, and when you actually hear him talk, it's even better. I often wonder, though, if we'd have the same focus on his life and work had be not been assasinated. Either way, his death was a terrible loss for this country and the world in general. We need more people who both support non-violent resisitence, but also know how to present such resistence in a strong and steadfast yet calm manner. Thanks for this article, Abbie.

I often wonder, though, if we’d have the same focus on his life and work had be not been assasinated. Either way, his death was a terrible loss for this country and the world in general.
