I went to Bueno Aires last year and I know what you mean about the great people and great weather in South America. I think you learn tons when you volunteer abroad. I hadn't heard of projects abroad but I know someone who volunteered at an orphanage in Romania with United Planet and loved it! Cool. It sounds like you had a great experience and caught the travel bug, whereas without them you might just be wondering about a place like Peru without them. I'm in South America right now and can tell you that the weather is perfect and the sun sets late. Sorry, did I just rub that in? Ha.
