How can we tackle this problem, stay connected in increasing holistic ways? Can I power my 'puter with a stationary bike? Solar power (or in Seattle, rain power?) Laptops, computers, software, and hardware--when not recycled--leach harmful chemicals into the soil and groundwater. But hopefully the engineers can continue to cut down on the energy use, recycling of the stuff, etc., to make the effects less serious.
